[travian strategy]

This guide was written and made by j0k3r, This guide was written for a T3 version of Travian, and might be sufficient on a T3.5 or later Travian Server Versions.

whoever read this guide should know that this guide is written with my own taste and experience. so there will never be any right or wrong here. u can read this guide as much as u want but u cant judge my game play. different ppl will have different strategies. but this is the best strategy that i do use.

and all of you should really know that this guide can be use by all tribe.

the reason why i made this guide is because im feel a bit boring playing without having much thrill. lots of player even they already play for a long time cant even understand how the mechanics of this game works.

some illustration and words had be taken from severals guide as im a bit lazy to make it by myself. but the main thing and idea of this guide is by myself.

[Introduction]
This guide will explain to you the basics of turning your village into an economical powerhouse. it basically consist of two (2) ways of playing. hard core gold user or normal user

[non gold user]
every non gold user should really know that they play the hard way. even the travian game is set to be free for life but u still need to have a little gold on ur account to become powerful. this group actually fill the server so there will be much of ppl playing it. u cant even build any ww or will having a hard time to get big artifact. and the main problem with non gold user is they really want to take 15c as their capital.

[15c rule that u should remember]

to build the best 15c u need to use lots of npc to get it to the right lvls.
for an example. if u want to build to lvl 19 of crops. u need 12 of gudang and 3 of jelapang. When you reach level 18, you are going to NPC every 2 hours for speed server and it is very expensive in terms of gold.This is where travian made money for gold users. It seemed it took forever to build it. You need also resources from your support villages to build it quick.

p/s: u can built ur crop tiles till level 21 and that is the max lvl u can upgrade. but u need to have penyimpan utama to make gudang besar and jelapang besar. and maybe if u are rich enough to make it that personally i think not even worth it.

but for non gold user i suggest a very simple ways. so all of u can archive it. the only matter that will rise will be -ve of crop production. that u need to handle in smart ways.

i will take any 6c or 7c that have full of oasis production. it can be 150% of crops or 75% crops+75% anything else. it is easy to be build as u dont need npc to balance the resources as it is already balance itself.

[1st step:non gold user]

u need to have at least 1 raider village. the reason why u need this raider is u want to catchup with troops production. try to make troops to 10k of cropfeed.

but for me. i think the best is just to make pejalan kaki coz it will save lots of crop/hour.

at your capital you just need to build important things. we dont want to destroy back everything that we have build b4. u need to concentrate from the start so your village can develop fast. sometimes you will need to transfer resos from other village to make it quicker.

after you archive the lvl that u want. u need to build 1 village near your capital and start sending the resources. the village will play the important role here. it will be the big hammer place that u will produce.

-berek lvl 20
-berek besar lvl 20
-kandang kuda lvl 20
-kandang kuda besar lvl 20
-gelanggang latihan lvl 17-20
-bengkel lvl 20
-more than 4 jelapang lvl 20
- 2 gudang lvl 20

[common mistake]

the common mistake that ppl do in travian is they never build any berek besar or kandang kuda besar.
another mistake is they build big hammer at capital village
the 3rd of common mistake is about kedai senjata and kedai perisa. all of u sometimes too early upgrade it

this is the biggest reason why u will never see any biggest troops attack at Malaysian server.

[hardcore gold user]
this is the main thing in travian. there will be only two (2) types of ppl that rule the travian world. 1 is hardcore gold user and no 2 is multi-acct user.

[1st step:gold user]

it is still the same from non gold user.u need to have at least 1 raider village. the reason why u need this raider is u want to catchup with troops production. try to make troops to 10k of cropfeed.

do not change your capital till your cropland tiles at 15c is already lvl 10. at this moment. let the crop be your most resos production. u need to use npc merchant to change resos for every few hours. and try to use all gold that u have to maximise the production. u can finish make lvl 19 resos tiles 3 times more faster than non gold user.

[faster way to make new village]
i have seen a lot of ppl say that pop is nothing but troop is everything. it really make me laugh out loud bcoz of this thing. this is because with the increasing of ur pop it means that u will have more village. if i have 30 villages and u still have 10 villages. who will have more advantages?

but the main point is do all ppl here know how to build more pop?

this is what nearly every top player have in every of their village. those 2 building give the most mata budaya. the highest 1. how many of u build kedutaan at every of your village? u think it is a waste? well im afraid thats y u cant grow fast =)

and the main thing is about Dewan Perbandaran.

each lvl of Dewan Perbandaran do make a different. and for me the best lvl i would make is at lvl 10.
each lvl will make less time to complete the mata budaya. and if u really make to lvl 20 u are the fastest now on producing mata budaya.

Where Should I Build my Hammer Army?

I would hope that most of you by now are beginning to see that one large army is much more useful than multiple small armies. That’s not to say multiple armies shouldn’t be built, but these smaller armies will usually be considered raiding armies and not hammers. By way of example, with a 5k hammer, you can clear 2k of defense from an idle player with ease, then go on to farm. With 5 x 1k armies, you wouldn’t be able to clear the player. In short, your hammers are for clearing large levels of defense and to be useful your hammer must be big. The question therefore arises, where do you build your hammer?

There are two answers to this question:

* The Capital Hammer
* The Non-Capital Hammer

It’s worth taking some time to consider which of these is more appropriate for you as the choice can’t be easily undone and the differences between the two are huge.

There are certain factors to take into account when making your decision:

1) Vulnerability

A non-capital hammer is vulnerable to a chiefing. A capital one isn’t. When a village gets chiefed, all the army units created from there vanish. A capital cannot be chiefed . As one who has spent a server defending a non-capital hammer as well as chiefing no small number myself, I can tell you this is a real, not purely theoretical risk.

2) Ease of Defense

When the serious wars kick off, the primary targets of your enemies will be capitals and hammer villages. For those of you with non-capital hammers, this will mean having to defend two villages and not just one. That of itself may not appear so tricky, but when one considers that your non-cap hammer will most likely be -100k / hr in crop without any defense in there, you can imagine how much fun it is to also host 100k in defenders as well. Handling a village at -200k crop/hr for any period doesn’t improve your sleep patterns any.

3) Feeding

In a capital hammer, feeding is easy. Most of the army will be fed from the capitals own crop production, with perhaps a supplement coming in from other villages. In a non-capital hammer the only word to describe the feeding process is nightmarish. For those without active sitters or duals, forget about it. Likewise if you don’t use gold and so are unable to NPC resources to crop, forget about it. The non-capital hammer is not for the part time Travian player. The concept behind feeding it is easy enough. The non-capital hammer receives constant shipments of crop from your capital, as well as all your other villages. When a non-capital army is on the march, it needs to be fed, when it’s at home, it simply reinforces your capital to make the feeding easier. It’s to allow for easier, quicker and constant feeding, that the non-capital hammer will normally be adjacent to your capital.

Those new to Travian might be considering that given the above, why would anyone build their hammer in a place other than their capital?

The answer is size. In almost all cases a non-capital hammer will be larger than a capital hammer. This is because in a non-capital hammer one can build a Great Barracks / Great Stable which effectively doubles your potential troop production (at a cost). I use the phrase “almost all cases” advisedly as there are two resources which are King in Travian: Crop and Time. It is these which will ultimately limit the size of your army.

Let us, by way of example examine Teutons. In one month a Teuton can build:

In a capital Hammer: 12970 axe 5258 TKs and 2162 Cats

In non-capital Hammer: 25939 axe 10516 TKs and 2162 Cats

If you are only producing your hammer for 6 months, then your army from a capital will be maxed at (77820axe +31548 TKs). This can rightly be considered a World wonder army, especially if it has 10k+ cats, though it won’t be the largest army that the server sees. It will be consuming close to 170k of crop per hour, excluding siege and will need some serious management. This contrasts with over 150,000 axe and 60,000 TKs that you could build in the same time from a non-capital hammer, consuming upwards of 330k /hr. For most players who are able to build unimpeded for this length of time, it will be crop which ultimately limits your army. There comes a point when you simply can’t feed any more troops. Given that the troop production is so much more expensive using a Great Barracks/Great Stable, for those who believe they can do 24/7 building for at least 6 months, you’d do well to consider a capital hammer.

This ignores one major factor however, and that’s losses due to usage. Given the slow build time, losses from a capital hammer take a longer time to recoup and then they do so slowly. A major loss 3 months in might kill off your world wonder army – the catapults being little good without an escort of >100k – but that same loss to the escorting troops in a non-capital hammer can be rebuilt within a month, and make your world wonder army usable again.

As a rule of thumb, for those who are going to be constantly aggressive, not seeking to build a monster army for world wonder time but rather, using it to bash enemies constantly then I would suggest a non-capital army. For those who want a monster army (and I mean “OMFG! – HOW DID HE BUILD THAT SIZE??”), again I’d suggest a non-capital hammer.

For the greater majority, a capital hammer is easier to manage, easier to defend and generally the safer, if smaller option. For the real pros out there, and with sufficient advance planning, there is no reason why you couldn’t host a capital army of 100k axe and 50k TKs with 15k cats providing you with both size and safety. And finally for the real pros with good duals, lots of gold, a friendly sitter pool and no RL (optional but useful), there is always the option of hosting both capital and non capital hammers.
